Johnny Taylor was in at Number Five askin’ about YOUR old lady in his classic
 “Who’s Makin Love”…


Soul Brother #1, The Godfather himself was on the charts at Number Six with “I Got The Feelin’”…


AND, Mr. Brown also held down the Number Ten spot with 
“Say It Loud – I’m Black and I’m Proud”


While Sly and The Family came in 
at Number Eight with “Dance to the Music”…


OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS ABOUT JANUARY 22nd:

In 1973, Sonny Geraci, formerly of the OUTSIDERS, had a Number Three hit in the USA with his new band, CLIMAX…


In 1977: Peter Green, originally of Fleetwood Mac, was institutionalized after firing a pistol at the delivery man who was trying to deliver $30,000 in royalties…Green had renounced Rock ‘n Roll in 1970 and said he didn’t want the money!


In 1982: TOMMY TUCKER, the “High-Heel Sneaker” guy, died from inhaling carbon tetrachloride fumes while finishing floors in his home. Tommy was 48 years old..
