After having not released a 12-inch LP for the entirety of the Fifties, the Flamingos saw two appear in a single year:

and 'Flamingo Serenade' (On End)…

I ONLY HAVE EYES FOR YOU

And while The Flamingos were enjoying the height of their career, The Shirells were at the beginning of theirs when, on that same day, the girls hit #83 on the Chart with what would become a classic;  the Carole King penned

65 year old Zeke Carey of The Flamingos passed away on Christmas Eve. The group is most often remembered for their 1959 US #11 single "I Only Have Eyes For You"
