TROPICAL JON: Today in the Evolution of Rock 'n Roll (9-10-2011)

Recently I was asked "WTF" is all this old sh*t...Thought you were a rocker." Well, I am a rocker, but it didn't start (IMHO) with Elvis:

Hound Dog wasn't even his tune--Belonged to Big Mama Thorntom, but let's listen to his COVER----Elvis' Hound Dog.

It certainly wasn't the so-called "British Invasion" Even though the Beatles ROCK!!!

--Nor, as much as I would like to believe it, with the Detroit sound--

and certainly NOT with The Chords "Shoo--Boom"

or even with Ike Turner and Jackie Brenston's ROCKET 88

--It's the Tin Pan Alley stuff, (OK, this is kinda cheatin')

                                          The Jump Stuff

and the R and B Stuff

--Yadda-dadda-dadda. It's all that "stuff" that's been the EVOLUTION OF ROCK AND ROLL!!!

Everyday I've done Facebook posts on the music that I believe has been the TRUE history of  Rock 'n Roll--IT'S ALL ROCK 'N ROLL TO ME!!!

AND THIS IS JUST THE TIP OF THE ICE BERG!!! R&B&R&R&JAZZ&BLUES&ALL THAT EVOLVED INTO ROCK 'N ROLL--THAT'S WHAT THIS BLOG IS ALL ABOUT!!!
