FEBRUARY 23rd IN THE EVOLUTION OF ROCK ‘n ROLL: Ruby and the Romantics, The Chiffons and The Doors…



February 23rd  saw some stranger than usual happenings...

In the EVOLUTION of ROCK ‘n ROLL!!!

FEBRUARY 23rd IN
THE EVOLUTION OF ROCK ‘n ROLL…

First up, on this date in 1963, Ruby and the Romantics entered the billboard Charts with
 OUR DAY WILL COME... 

By March The tune will become the group’s biggest hit, 
scoring #1 on both the R ‘n B and Pop Charts…


On the very same day, The Chiffons’ 
 HE’S SO FINE entered the Top 100... 

The tune had already been rejected by ten different record companies before Laurie Records decided to give it a shot..


The tune eventually topped the Billboard and Pop charts in March!!!

Skip ahead seven years to February 23, 1970…
 The Doors were already chart toppers when they released MORRISON MOTEL.
 The album produced NO hit singles at all; yet, it climbed to #4 on the Top 200 Chart
and reached #12 in the UK
