THE EVOLUTION OF ROCK 'N ROLL: "STRANDED IN THE JUNGLE"

The Jayhawks released the first version of “Stranded In The Jungle” in 1955
(This is the same band who would later be known as The Olympics who did Western Movies, Hully Gully and then Big Boy Pete in 1960. They were also known as The  Marathons when they did Peanut Butter in 1961; and then as The Vibrations with the 1963 release of Dancing Danny

The Cadets  had a smash hit with the tune in 1956

The NY Dolls brought it back in the early 70s

Jethro Tull also touched on the jungle theme in the early 1970s

And in ’73 Kool and the Gang came out with Jungle Boogie

And a few years later, in 1977, Steve Miller brought out “Jungle Love”

Then , in 1987,  Guns and Roses released “Welcome To The Jungle”

ALL GREAT TUNES!!!

But, not until the early 90s did we hear “Stranded” again when the VooDoo Glow Skulls of Riverside, CA brought it out one more time!

OK, who’s next to bring this monster back!?!
