April 13, 1959:The Scotty Moore Produced "TRAGEDY" is released by Thomas Wayne...



April 13, 1959:  Thomas Wayne's "Tragedy," a million-seller released on Scotty Moore's Fernwood label, reaches #5. Moore is featured on guitar and production…

"Tragedy" (credited to Thomas Wayne with the DeLons) peaked at #20 on the Black Singles chart and #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1959. It sold over one million copies, earning gold disc status…

On December 28, 1968;  Brian Hyland performed "Tragedy" 

on the late Dick Clark's 'American Bandstand'...

One month later on January 11th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at #56 and spent 10 weeks on the Top 100...

                               In 1961 the Fleetwoods
 covered it;  their version peaked at #10...



But, Thomas Wayne’s Scotty Moore production was the first…
