July 29, 1959 – The Isley Brothers record “Shout.” The song reaches No. 47…

There have been a lot of covers of the Isleys’ SHOUT over the years…

Here's the original:

Joey Dee & the Starliters took the song to #6 in 1962…

The Beatles had their version, before they did Twist & Shout…

The Shangri-Las had their shot at the tune…

Lulu did a remarkably credible cover of the tune on Ready Steady Go in 1965…

Joan Jett did it on tour in the 80s…

The “movie version” of The Temptations had a shot…

Otis Day & The Knights tore it up in the movie Animal House…

BUT, it all started with:

THE ORIGINAL ISLEY BROTHERS

THANKS, GUYS!!!
