BILLBOARD BLUES ALBUM CHART ~ Week ending August 12, 2001




The Top Five albums from last week hang tough, while there are a few surprises in 6 ~ 10…

#1.  Bonnie Raitt’s SLIPSTREAM still riding the Top of the Chart…Check her out doing the first single on David Letterman—Three days after the release of the album


#2.  The Tedeschi-Trucks Band is still locked in at the number two spot with 
EVERYBODY’S TALKIN’
 (They also hold down #7 with REVELATOR)…






#3.   Joe Bonamassa, 
with DRIVING TOWARDS DAYLIGHT, secures his number three spot again…




Gary Clark, Jr. in Austin, TX
#4.  BRIGHT LIGHTS, the very hot EP by Gary Clark, Jr. stays tight at the fourth position…




 


#5. Dr. John’s LOCKED DOWN is locked into the middle of the chart again…







The bottom five are a surprise (AT LEAST TO ME)…

Hugh Laurie, with some help from Joe Satriani, Comes in at #6

#6.  The Royal Southern Brotherhood has been totally knocked out of the Top Ten...



with Hugh Laurie’s LET THEM TALK moving up from the eighth position into number six…

#7.   Tedeschi-Trucks’ REVELATOR hangs in there at the seven spot…





#8.   PLAY THE BLUES, the collaboration of Wynton Marsalis and Eric Clapton moves up from the nine spot…



#9.  Joe Bonamassa adds an
other one to the chart with his very cool release, DUST BOWL…


 



#10.   Sonny Landreth clings onto the ten spot with ELEMENTAL JOURNEY…
