Christmas Gifts From Detroit In The Evolution of Rock 'n Roll

With “Christmas Music” filling the airwaves a week before Christmas, check out these landmark recordings by a few of the  Motor City Masters…

Each of these tunes made their mark on December 19th--less than a week from Christmas Day…

On Dec 19th in  1958, Detroiter  Little Willie John released a new single, No Regrets, on King Records...

It was Dec 19, 1962 When Marvin Gaye released his new single, Hitch Hike...

And on Dec 19,  1964 "Come See About Me", (the third release from The Supremes album "Where Did Our Love Go"), becomes their third straight US number one single….

And, on Dec 19th—six days before Christmas in 1968, Marvin Gaye is #1 on the U.S. Charts with

“I Heard It Through The Grapevine”

The Motor City definitely concurs with the spirit of giving the world gifts at Christmas...
